Councillor for Tweeddale East
Julie was elected as a councillor for Tweeddale East in May 2022. She is the Executive Member for Communities and Culture and the Chair of the Police, Fire and Safer Communities Board. A former journalist, Julie has worked for large blue chip companies helping them engage with stakeholders, the public and their people. Now, Julie brings a fresh face with fresh ideas to the council, standing up for everyone across the ward. She wants to ensure the people of Tweeddale East get the best possible services and are listened to.
Julie is particularly keen to champion the voices of girls and women throughout the Borders and encourage more into local politics.
She loves walking in the countryside with her dogs and her children.
