Some 60 members of the Association attended a highly successful dinner with Tom Tugendhat, the MP for Tonbridge and Malling and Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee, in the Buccleuch Arms, St Boswells on Friday 2nd February 2018. Tom is no stranger to the Borders, having campaigned up here in previous elections, and so was delighted to return to a constituency that now has a sitting Conservative MSP, Rachael Hamilton, and Westminster MP, John Lamont. In his talk Tom looked forward to John returning the favour and visiting the Kingdom of Kent. Tom also stressed the need to focus on the positive gains to be achieved through the current Brexit negotiations rather than being distracted by those whose interest lies in talking up division.
