Rachael Hamilton MSP has launched a competition to honour a local Borders hero who will have the chance to attend celebrations for the 25th anniversary of the Scottish Parliament.
Later this year, a special event will be held at Holyrood to mark the milestone year.
The Scottish Borders MSP said the anniversary was an opportunity to recognise a local unsung hero who goes above and beyond to help others and benefit their community.

The competition will close on 9 August with a winner being chosen shortly afterwards.
Scottish Borders MSP, Rachael Hamilton, said: “I’m delighted to be holding this competition to find a local Borders hero who deserves special recognition for all the work that they do.
“I know of so many local people who give up their own time to help others, who go above and beyond to benefit their community, and who don’t always get the acknowledgment they richly deserve.
