Borders A&E waiting times improve yet again

Figures released by ISD Scotland have shown that 97% of patients admitted to A & E departments in the Borders during March were seen within four hours. This is the highest percentage since October last year, and comes despite a significant rise in the number of patients that attended A & E.

Conservative vote in Scottish Borders by-election bucks national trend

The Scottish Conservatives have more than doubled their vote in the Leaderdale & Melrose by-election, bucking the national trend in the county council elections. Candidate Rachael Hamilton narrowly missed out on winning the Borders Council seat despite topping the ballot on the number of first preferences with 27% of the vote.
