John Lamont MP has called for action to tackle the growing seagull problem across the Borders, particularly around Eyemouth.
The Borders MP has been contacted by local residents, businesses and charities who are concerned about the impact the seagulls are having on people, trade, and visitors in the area.
Further concerns have been raised by constituents from as far inland as Hawick.
A motion will soon come before the Scottish Borders Council on the issue, brought forward by Councillor James Anderson.
It will call for "urgent action" to tackle the problem.
Scottish Borders MP, John Lamont, said: "Issues with seagulls have been growing worse for many years and this situation must now be tackled.
"These birds are often a menace to local people and they can be terrifying to children.
"I commend Cllr Anderson and other campaigners who have been concerned about this issue for some time.
"I hope to see the council work towards a solution that keeps people safe."
