Local MP John Lamont and MSP Rachael Hamilton recently attended a memorial service as part of the National Fishing Remembrance Day.
The event on Sunday in St Abbs near Eyemouth saw locals join in remembrance with representatives of Fishermen's Mission, the Seafarers' Charity, Stella Marris, Seafish, and the Maritime and Coastal Agency.
Borders MP John Lamont said: "National Fishing Remembrance Day is an important opportunity to remember those who lost their lives at sea and to recognise the enormous contribution our fishing communities continue to make. It was a privilege to join local people in St Abbs to pay tribute to generations of fishermen and their families.”
Borders MSP Rachael Hamilton said: "Our coastal communities have proud fishing traditions that continue to this day. It was moving and a privilege to join the memorial service in St Abbs to recognise the dangers faced by those who work at sea and stand alongside local families and organisations in remembrance.”
