Borders MP John Lamont said: "Once again, Labour have broken promises, increased bills on working people, and damaged the economy.
"This budget is a disaster for the Borders and all of Britain. It will do even more harm to our economy by continuing to force higher costs onto businesses, which reduces investment and puts more jobs at risk.
"The bills of working people are rising to pay for a higher benefits bill, which is unsustainable and unaffordable. The chaotic mismanagement of the UK's public finances must end."
Borders MSP Rachael Hamilton said: "Labour's latest budget will leave Scotland and Britain worse off.
"There is very little to welcome and plenty to be bitterly disappointed about.
"Rachel Reeves blames everybody but herself. It's time she took responsibility and accepted that she is wildly out of her depth.
"The Chancellor has caved in to Labour backbenchers and found billions to end the two-child cap. But while there’s more money for benefits, she offered nothing to roll back the vicious Family Farm Tax that will decimate rural Scotland."
