A word about our new name
Following an internal review, the Scottish Conservative and Unionist Party decided that in future its local associations would adopt the names and boundaries of the corresponding Scottish local authorities. Accordingly, at its Annual General Meeting held on 3rd June 2013 the then Berwickshire, Roxburgh and Selkirkshire Conservative and Unionist Association resolved to change its name to the Scottish Borders Conservative and Unionist Association and to merge with the Tweeddale branch that was formerly a part of the Dumfriesshire, Clydesdale and Tweeddale Conservative and Unionist Association. This resolution then came into effect following its approval by the Scottish Conservative and Unionist Party conference on 8th June 2013. The former Dumfriesshire, Clydesdale and Tweeddale Conservative and Unionist Association has undergone a corresponding change of name and adjustment to its boundaries and is now known as the Dumfries and Galloway Conservative and Unionist Association.
So far as Westminster constituencies are concerned, the boundaries of Berwickshire, Roxburgh and Selkirkshire and Dumfriesshire, Clydedale and Tweeddale have not been altered since the 2010 general election and Tweeddale, though part of the Scottish Borders Conservative and Unionist Association, remains a part of the Dumfriesshire, Clydesdale and Tweeddale constituency, whose MP is David Mundell.
